Sol Ruca Admits She Was Nervous Ahead of WWE Clash In Italy Match

Sol Ruca proved she was up to the high pressure of a PLE at WWE Clash in Italy, but she acknowledged that she was nervous ahead of the bout. Ruca defeated Becky Lynch at Sunday’s PLE to win her first main roster title. Ruca had to deal during the leadup to the feud with Lynch saying that she wasn’t ready, and she spoke on WWE’s Clash in Italy recap about her mindset before the match.

Ruca noted that she was nervous but that once the first thing is out of the way, she settles in and gets into the proper groove. You can see the highlights below:

On Getting Nervous Ahead of the Match:

“Oh, absolutely. Totally. I mean, I try not to get nervous until I’m backstage about to go out. And then as soon as my music hits, my nerves kind of go away, because it’s go time. I have no time to be nervous. But how the arena is, that ramp is so long. And you’re sitting there watching Becky come out, and watching take her time all the way down. I’m like, ‘Alright, getting a little nervous now!’ But you know, as soon as that bell rings, it’s go time.”

On When She Starts To Settle Down in a Match:

“Absolutely, I think especially the first thing in the match. I think once I do like the first bump or the first — you know, if I’m on top, the first clothesline or whatever it is. Once that happens, I’m like, ‘Okay, I’ve got this. We’re in it, it’s go time.’ And then from then on I try and just be in the moment as much as I can. I mean, I still have those moments of hesitation or getting nervous. But essentially yeah, the first thing, once that’s out of the way it’s go time. Just like promos. As soon as I say the first line, I’m chilling.”
