Steven Borden opened up a bit about the injury that he suffered during his match at AEW All Out, noting it “feels great” to be back. Borden suffered a concussion during his match with Darby Allin against Kyle Fletcher and Kevin Knight at the September 26th PPV. The moment was a scary one and much talked about by fans after the match, but Borden is back in action and ready to compete at AEW Dynamite: Blood & Guts tomorrow.
Borden and Allin appeared on First Coast News to promote this week’s episode of Dynamite. He noted that it was good to be back and talked about being knocked out “for a little bit,” which Allin scoffed at.
“It feels great to be back,” Borden said (per Fightful). “So I got concussed, and I was knocked out for a little bit.”
Allin replied, “A little bit? You were snoring for six minutes straight. I was there in the ring. We had to stop the match live on pay-per-view. Stop the match and he’s out there snoring and I was like, ‘Steven!?’ It wasn’t a little bit.”
Borden continued, “It’s weird though. With injuries, you’re sidelined. Normally, you can feel it. You tore something in your knee or whatever, and so you know as much as you wanna get back in the action, you can’t. But for me, I felt fine. So it’s just this weird thing of like, I wanted to be back out there but I couldn’t, and now that I’m back, it feels pretty dang good.”
Steven Borden and Darby Allin will be part of the Blood & Guts match on AEW Dynamite as they team with Will Ospreay, Adam Copeland, and the Young Bucks to take on The Don Callis Family’s Kazuchika Okada, Kyle Fletcher, Wardlow, Kevin Knight, Mark Davis & Jake Doyle. The show airs live tomorrow night from VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida and airs live on TBS and HBO Max.
