WWE announced another major name for the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2026. Joining this year’s inductees is the late Sid Eudy, aka former WWE Champion “Sycho” Sid, and former WCW World Heavyweight Champion Sid Vicious. Eudy passed away in August 2024 after a battle with cancer. He was 63 years old.
Sid was part of WCW in the late 1980s and early 1990s, becoming a member of the Four Horsemen, before later joining WWE, debuting as Sid Justice in 1991. He served as the special guest referee in the main event at SummerSlam 1991. This would eventually lead to a heel turn and a rivalry with Hulk Hogan, culminating in their match in the main event the following year at WrestleMania VIII.
Sid later exited WWE that same year, eventually returning to WCW. He’d ultimately make his return to WWE in 1995, aligning with Shawn Michaels and appearing in his corner for his WWE Title match against Diesel at WrestleMania XI.
The self-proclaimed Master and Ruler of the World would eventually challenge Michaels for the title at WWE Survivor Series in 1996, where he beat the champion and finally captured his first world title. He won the WWE Title once more, beating Bret Hart in a match on Monday Night Raw on February 17, 1997. Sid would headline WrestleMania once again at WrestleMania XIII, where he lost the WWE Championship that year to The Undertaker.
Sid eventually made another return to WCW in 1999, which led to his winning the WCW United States Championship and later the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. During his run, he faced many notable legends and Hall of Famers, including the likes of Hulk Hogan, Sting, Goldberg, Booker T, and more.
Sid’s career was significantly threatened by a massive injury at WCW Sin in January 2001. However, he’d eventually make his return on the indie scene and have a return match against current WWE Superstar and former Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn.
‘Sycho’ Sid Eudy Joins the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2026
The wrestler and former WWE Champion made his final WWE TV appearance in 2012, beating Heath Slater in a squash match on WWE Raw. Sid Eudy joins the Class of 2026 in the Hall of Fame alongside Stephanie McMahon, AJ Styles, Dennis Rodman, and Demolition.
This year’s ceremony takes place on Friday, April 17, following WWE SmackDown. The induction ceremony is being held at the Dolby Live at Park MGM in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Former WWE Champion “Sycho” Sid Eudy will be inducted into the #WWEHOF as a legacy inductee and a member of the Class of 2026!
