As previously reported, wrestler Syko Stu spoke to the SOS Podcast about the incident where he was assaulted by Raja Jackson at a KnokX Pro Wrestling event in August of last year. The incident stemmed from a backstage incident where Stu smashed a beer can over Jackson’s head.
Stu later apologized to Jackson, and they shook hands before doing a planned angle in the ring. However, Jackson ended up slamming Stu down and delivered 20 legitimate strikes to Stu’s head before he was pulled off.
Speaking on the initial beer can incident and apology, Syko Stu explained (via WrestlingInc.com), “You know, after I realized he wasn’t another worker, I did. I’m big enough to admit when I’m wrong. So you know, ‘Hey, I’m sorry. Thought you were working.’ It is what it is. But everything that happened afterwards, it’s a little…” Stu eventually trailed off at the end of his statement.
Syko Stu also addressed shaking hands with Raja Jackson and the way the angle was originally planned out. He explained, “This is the angle we’re going to go (apologizes for losing train of thought). So we came up with the angle, and we wrote it in after the beer can thing; you want to get your credibility back or whatever the case may be. So I believe it was supposed to be one punch and that was it. But I was out on the slam.”
As noted, Jackson served 90 days in prison on a no-contest plea to a felony count of battery with serious bodily injury. Stu has not wrestled since the incident.
