Tony Khan Reveals That AEW Brings in Chris Nowinski Annually To Educate the Roster on Concussion Awareness & Safety

AEW President and CEO Tony Khan recently joined The Ariel Helwani Show for a lengthy interview about a variety of topics. During the conversaation, Khan revealed that former WWE wrestler, Dr. Chris Nowinski, is brought to AEW annually to speak to the roster about concussion awareness and safety, and head trauma safety.

Khan explained how it matters to him that Dr. Nowinski, a former WWE Superstar and co-founder of the Concussion Legacy Foundation, speaks to the wrestlers directly about concussion trauma and safety. He stated during the interview, “I want them to hear it straight from Chris that it’s really important that they are cognizant, and that they hear the message he’s giving that really we want to be as safe as possible because Chris was a pro wrestler, and he cares about this.”

Chris Nowinski stated in response to Khan’s mention of him during the interview, “It’s a privilege and honor to share my concussion experience, CTE research & @ConcussionLF HelpLine with my former colleagues to help them stay safe in the ring. Thanks @AEW & @TonyKhan for the annual invitation.”
