Last night’s ROH taping saw Tony Khan pay tribute to the late Joe Koff before matches got underway. AEW held a taping for Collision, Battle of the Belts and ROH TV on Thursday night, and PWINsider reports that Khan came out as the ROH aspect of the show was being set up and spoke about Koff, who passed away earlier this week.
According to the report, Khan said he wanted to speak about Koff and said he kept ROH alive. Khan said that Koff was always good to him and called his passing a loss for professional wrestling as a whole. He said that Koff came to him about buying ROH, looking to keep the company alive and seeing Khan as someone who would keep it in business and keep those who worked there employed. Khan said it was an honor to be able to buy the company and said its being alive today is thanks to Koff, before leading the audience in a “Joe” chant.
