Trick Williams has revealed that Lil Yachty had a hands-on role in creating his custom WWE United States Championship, saying the rapper personally helped shape the belt’s final design.
The custom championship debuted on the July 10 episode of WWE SmackDown, where Lil Yachty surprised Williams with a personalized United States Championship featuring a fully white fur strap, which was presented to him as a ‘legacy title.’
Speaking with Bleacher Report, Trick Williams explained that Yachty wasn’t simply involved in the presentation. According to the WWE star, the rapper helped bring the entire concept to life.
“Yachty said he wanted to do something a little special,” Williams said. “Shout out to my boy Yachty, taking the time and doing his job. Some perceive him as my creative director, my personal producer to make sure that all things are fit for entertainment consumption to a very, very high level. He said, ‘Trick, we need a title that’s gonna fit you. We’re gonna get you your very own legacy title.’ So, he hand-directed and sculpted the title himself and it’s a work of art. It’s beautiful.”
The design closely matches Williams’ current presentation on SmackDown. The white fur strap is similar to the fur coat he wears during his entrance. After the belt debuted on television, WWE shared a closer look at the custom title and began selling a replica on WWE Shop for $699.99.
