Triple H Explains Why WWE Moved Away From Having Bron Breakker Win the Royal Rumble

WWE: Unreal Season 3 premiered on Netflix today. During the new season, it’s shown that Bron Breakker was discussed as a potential winner of the Royal Rumble earlier in January. Ultimately, WWE Chief Creative Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque questioned if Breakker would be ready to carry the pressure of winning the Rumble and being positioned as the face of the company.

Triple H said about the risk with booking Breakker (via F4WOnline.com), “The risk with Bron Breakker is everything from, can he actually do it? Can he mentally handle it? Will fans accept it? So you have to really be sure.”

Additionally, Triple H expressed concern over fans feeling like WWE was shoving Breakker down their throats. He says, “You can make a shocking moment out of it, but I still worry a little bit that it just feels like you’re just shoving him down your throat. I think we just need to think about it a little.”

Bron Breakker was eliminated from the Rumble in just ten seconds after he was attacked by a masked assailant, later revealed to be Seth Rollins. Soon after the event, Breakker suffered a hernia injury which sidelined him until WrestleMania, where he made his TV return.
