Backstage Reaction to Tyra Mae Steele’s Tweet & Subsequent WWE Release Rumors

WWE LFG Season One winner Tyra Mae Steele recently caused confusion with a tweet that led some to believe that she had been released from WWE. However, multiple outlets later confirmed with WWE that this wasn’t the case and that Steele remains under the company’s contract.

Steele herself commented on the confusion that her post caused on social media. In the latest edition of Fightful Select’s Q&A session, a user asked Sean Ross Sapp if anyone in WWE believed that Tyra Mae Steele had been released based on her post. Sapp revealed that there was one veteran who reached out, “extremely confused” as to why the WWE EVOLVE wrestler would post that.

According to Sapp, the veteran felt that the post just exposed WWE to more criticism. Tyra continues to perform on EVOLVE. She most recently challenged Kendal Grey for the EVOLVE Women’s Championship, but she failed to emerge victorious.
