As previously reported, the United States Embassy & Consulates in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia issued a new security alert earlier this week, warning U.S. citizens to “exercise heightened vigilance” amid the ongoing conflict with Iran. The Embassy’s official X account issued another alert today, following an attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh that took place earlier today. T

Reuters reports that several people were wounded in the attack, which forced a suspension of operations, per Saudi Arabia’s civil aviation authority. No one has claimed responsibility for the attack yet, but there has been an ongoing security situation in Saudi Arabia, with Houthi public threats against airports and airspace across the country stemming from the conflict in Iran.

The US Embassy in Riyadh writes the following:

“Security Alert: U.S. Mission Saudi Arabia (October 10, 2026)

The U.S. Mission is aware of attacks on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh on October 10 and strongly recommends all U.S. citizens avoid this airport and surrounding areas.

U.S. government employees working in Saudi Arabia require special authorization to use the King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.

U.S. citizens should be aware of potential flight cancellations, airspace closures, and travel disruptions. We recommend checking your flight departure status directly with the airline and with the airport.

U.S. Government Employee Travel Restrictions:

U.S. government employees working in Saudi Arabia require special authorization to use the King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh. U.S. government employees working in Saudi Arabia are not allowed to travel within 20 miles of the Yemen border due to safety risks and need special authorization for travel to the provinces of Jizan, Asir, Najran, and the cities of Qatif, Yanbu, and Taif.”

WWE is currently scheduled to hold Crown Jewel 2026 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on November 7. It was reported by F4WOnline’s Bryan Alvarez earlier this week that whether or not WWE will run Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia next month “was a big topic of conversation in WWE” on Thursday (Oct. 8).

For now, WWE has yet to announce any changes regarding the premium live event amid the security concerns.
