A new report has a bit of an update on Alex Hammerstone after he suffered an injury at the MLW Fusion tapings this past weekend. As noted, Hammerstone reportedly suffered a knee injury during the first tapings for MLW Fusion’s return at Center Stage in Atlanta, Georgia. Hammerstone was facing Matt Riddle in the main event of the second episode, which ended early when Hammerstone got hurt.
According to PWInsider, the belief among sources the site has spoken to is that Hammerstone will be out of action for an “extended period of time.” The specifics around the injury are not yet known; as noted before, it appeared to happen whem Hammerstone hit a pump kick to Riddle’s fist into the ring post.
Hammerstone reportedly wanted to continue the match, but MLW made the decision to end the match early. It had been reported yesterday that Hammerstone was able to walk backstage but was in pain.
Hammerstone has previous knee injury that forced him to undergo surgery in December of 2024 when he was with TNA. He was out of action until February of last year and returned to MLW at Battle Riot that April.
On behalf of 411, our best wishes to Hammerstone for a quick and full recovery.
