As previously reported, New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) confirmed that EVIL will be leaving the company at the end of the month. It was rumored earlier that he had given his notice to New Japan and was heading to WWE. Fightful Select now has an update on what’s next for the former IWGP Heavyweight Champion.
According to the report, WWE and other Japanese wrestling companies are being viewed as likely options for where EVIL will be heading next. Additionally, Fightful reports that EVIL has recently been backstage at multiple WWE events, and it’s said that there have been talks between both sides.
Sources in NJPW also inform Fightful that while there are options available to the 39-year-old wrestler in Japan, they still expect him to try to relocate to the United States. Also, EVIL is not expected to be signing with AEW.
