Update On How Many Matches Remain Unannounced For WWE SummerSlam

The card for WWE SummerSlam is not yet complete, with new details reported on plans for how many matches are still to be announced. The current lineup for next weekend’s two-night PLE stands at nine matches. According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, a source in ESPN has revealed that the plan is to have the final card feature between 12 and 13 matches between the two nights.

The report says that at one point there was a plan for The Vision to defend the WWE Tag Team Championships, but sources in WWE have indicated this is not yet internally finalized.

Finally, as of now ESPN expects that one of the featured matches during the first hour window that airs on ESPN on cable will be Penta’s WWE Intercontinental Championship defense against Chad Gable.

WWE SummerSlam takes place on August 1st and 2nd from US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The show airs live on ESPN Unlimited in the US and on Netflix internationally. The announced lineup thus far is:

* Undisputed WWE Championship Match: CM Punk vs. Cody Rhodes
* World Heavyweight Championship Match: Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins
* Interim WWE Women’s Championship Ladder Match: Tiffany Stratton vs. Jade Cargill vs. Charlotte Flair OR Nia Jax vs. two TBA.
* Hell in a Cell Match: Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi
* Women’s World Championship Match: Liv Morgan vs. IYO SKY
* WWE Intercontinental Championship Match: Penta vs. Chad Gable
* LA Knight, Solo Sikoa & Royce Keys vs. Jacob Fatu & The Usos
* Gunther vs. Nick Aldis
* Dominik Mysterio vs. Danhausen
