Update on Status of Daniel Bryan, Some WWE Officials Believe He Will Sign With AEW

July 20, 2021 | Posted by Jeffrey Harris

PWInsider has reported an update on Daniel Bryan, who has been MIA from wrestling since losing a Championship vs. Career match to Roman Reigns last April. It was later reported that his WWE contract had expired, and he is no longer listed on WWE’s internal roster.

The latest updates notes that Bryan was not part of a recent list of talent plans involving licensing and merchandising for WWE for 2021 to 2022. This list was reportedly put together recently for internal use in WWE. For example, WWE is not planning any future Mattel action figure releases for Daniel Bryan at the moment.

Additionally, the report notes that there have not been any discussions backstage about Bryan returning to TV. Some officials within the company reportedly believe that this means Bryan is planning to sign or will eventually sing with AEW. It’s unknown if there is any truth to this notion, and PWInsider notes that AEW would do everything possible to hide this fact if it was was indeed true.
