More Details on Whether WWE-Bleacher Report Content Deal Will Affect AEW

With WWE announcing a multi-year content deal with Bleacher Report, many have been wondering whether this will affect All Elite Wrestling in any way or form, given B/R’s affiliation with TNT Sports and Warner Bros. Discovery.

This morning, Fightful Select reported that a source within WBD informed them that the WWE deal will not have any impact on any existing deal All Elite Wrestling has with WBD. The source claimed that Bleacher Report has similar deals with other sporting leagues and a similar deal with the Tony Khan-led company.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider has since backed up Fightful’s report. Johnson cited a source within WBD, which claimed that it is a global deal inked by TNT Sports and won’t have any impact on AEW.

The source noted that WBD is “very happy” with its current deal with All Elite Wrestling. The report also noted that the AEW deal carries “exclusivity” in the US, while the WWE deal is global and similar to the deals the company has with the NFL, NHL, and other sports leagues.

According to Johnson, the source claimed that the WWE deal with B/R may turn out to be a net positive for AEW, given that more resources will be employed to cover professional wrestling, adding that WWE’s content may attract more eyeballs to the AEW content. Additionally, the insider further stated that the WWE deal does not include any clause that prohibits Bleacher Report from covering or promoting AEW programming.
