As previously reported, Will Ospreay made his NJPW return earlier today at NJPW Sakura Genesis, wrestling his first match there since 2024. Ospreay teamed up with his old faction, The United Empire (HENARE and The Great-O-Khan), who defeated the team of El Desperado, Taichi & Yuya Uemura in a six-man tag team bout.

After the match, Ospreay indicated that he will be back again in New Japan soon, suggesting he and The United Empire will target the NEVER Openweight 6-Man Tag Team Titles. Ospreay stated, “It’s just nice to know that even after two years of not being in the same corner as one another, mate, we’re still the most ruthless bastards in this entire locker room, eh?” He added, “I think we’ve done a pretty good job as a trios, so why don’t we get some gold to go with that?”

Elsewhere, Ospreay also appeared after the main event, embracing his former United Empire protege, Callum Newman, after he won the IWGP Heavyweight Title from Yota Tsuji, making Newman the youngest IWGP Heavyweight Champion of all time. You can check out Ospreay’s post-match interview footage below:
