Last month, UK wrestling promotion IWL backed up allegations that Will Ospreay had wrestler Pollyana removed from bookings after Ospreay had released an earlier statement denying such allegations. Ospreay has been accused of taking part in blackballing Pollyana in the wrestling industry after she accused Ospreay’s friend, Scott Wainwright, of sexual assaulting her in 2017. Since IWL backed up Pollyana’s allegations after Ospreay’s denial, Ospreay has been largely quiet on the matter on the social media front. However, yesterday he posted a story on his Instagram page that included the following statement about suicide.

“Few weeks ago, I came very close to something I know I’d regret.

I’m still dragging my feet but I’m getting better.

I’m still smiling, barely but a smile nonetheless.

Suicide isn’t an option even when you feel like you’ve dropped the world, learning and pushing forward to be better is an option.

Thank you for the people that have ever made me smile or laugh and been there to pick me up. Because of you my heart still beats.

I love you all.”

Dave Meltzer noted on today’s Wrestling Observer Radio that Ospreay is suffering from depression right now, and there are people “watching out for him” at the moment.

Ospreay has been out of action in the ring since March due to the global pandemic.
