Will Ospreay is seeking the help of his old faction to deal with the Death Riders in AEW. Ospreay had a glorious NJPW homecoming at today’s NJPW Sakura Genesis 2026 event. He reunited with his old faction, The United Empire, successfully beating the team of El Desperado, Taichi & Yuya Uemura in a six-man tag team match.

In the main event, Ospreay’s former protege, Callum Newman, beat Yota Tsuji to capture the IWGP Heavyweight Title, and Ospreay embraced the new champion. During Newman’s post-match press conference, Ospreay made it known that he wants United Empire’s help in AEW.

Ospreay said to Newman, “Actually, there is something I kind of want to talk to you guys about. I didn’t want to do this in front of you. In front of you. Um, an all music moment. I’ve got some trouble at work. I could really do with some backup. I know you just wrestled really.” Newman then indicated that they’d discuss things later at the bar.

So, it looks like other members of the United Empire will soon be appearing in AEW to give Ospreay some backup in dealing with the Death Riders. Ospreay is scheduled to challenge the Death Riders’ leader, Jon Moxley, for the title next weekend at AEW Dynasty. The event takes place on Sunday, April 12 at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
