Willow Nightingale is out of action, vacating the TBS Championship and withdrawing from the women’s Owen Hart Tournament on this week’s AEW Dynamite. Nightingale announced on Wednesday night’s episode that she suffered a shoulder injury and will be on the shelf. As a result, she has been forced to withdraw from the women’s Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. She also said that she was vacating the TBS Championship.
As a result, Nightingale’s original opponent Alex Windsor will face a wild card opponent in the first round at a later time. The injury happened during her match with Red Velvet for the TBS Championship on the May 16th episode of AEW Collision. There’s no word on how long she’ll be out of action.
It was also announced that the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament match between Athena and Mina Shirakawa is not set to take place at AEW Double Or Nothing.
AEW Double Or Nothing takes place on May 24th from Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens, New York. The show airs live on PPV.
On behalf of 411, our best wishes to Willow Nightingale for a quick and full recovery.
