WOW – Women Of Wrestling is going live, with the show set to go to live weekly episodes for its fifth season. Variety reports that the Los Angeles-based women’s wrestling promotion is moving to live shows as part of a “broader live strategy” going forward.

In addition, LA Lakers minority owner Jeanie Buss, who is a co-owner of the promotion alongside David McLane, is moving into an on-camera position. The report notes that she will have an “increased role” on screen

“Season 5 is personal for me in a new way,” Buss told the outlet. “I’m taking on a bigger, more visible role, and fans are going to see a side of WOW they haven’t seen before. I’ve spent my career fighting for women to be seen and respected in spaces that weren’t built for us, and WOW exists to give women that platform, in the ring and beyond. Women’s sports are having a real moment, and this season delivers on everything we’ve been building toward.”

The show just aired the 35th episode of its fourth season. It’s not yet clear how many episodes season five will consist of and when the show will kick off season five. The show is syndicated, though it also airs on YouTube, Pluto TV and Facebook.

Season four premiered in September of last year.
