WWE Still Figuring Out Schedule for WrestleMania 36 Week in Tampa Bay Due to FOX Move

– You might’ve noticed at last week’s WWE press conference announcing WrestleMania 36 in Tampa Bay, that WWE did not announce it’s other shows and events that are scheduled around WrestleMania for the same week, such as Axxess, NXT TakeOver, and the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony. THat’s because WWE still doesn’t have those dates and venues lined up. up yet. Speaking to The Wrestling Observer at last week’s WrestleMania 36 announcement press event, WWE’s Stephanie McMahon discussed why WrestleMania 36 was the only show that was announced at the event, which is due to the new FOX broadcasting deal.

WWE did not announce the dates or locations for the other shows that week, such as NXT TakeOver, Axxess etc. According to Stephanie McMahon, WWE has not yet figured out its schedule for the rest of the week, hence why WrestleMania 36 was the only event that was announced last week.

McMahon stated that WWE is still figuring out its schedule for the rest of the week in 2020 because of the upcoming move to the FOX Network for Smackdown Live, which will mean a live TV show every week on Friday. McMahon stated, “We’re still figuring that out right now. So we don’t even know. Everything is to be determined.”

Additionally, Tampa Bay was the city that booked Wrestlemania due to Tampa’s relationship with WWE over the new XFL. As previously reported, the new version of the XFL is slated to have a Tampa Bay-based team.

The Observer also reported that Raw, Smackdown, NXT TakeOver, and the WWE Hall of Fame ceremony are all going to be held at the Amalie Arena. So other than Raw and Smackdown, the dates for those events are yet to be determined. As noted previously, WWE has not yet announced or confirmed that the Amalie Arena will be the location for those events. WWE simply revealed that Amalie Arena would be top partner with WWE for WrestleMania Week.

WrestleMania 36 will be held on April 5, 2020 at the Raymond James Stadium. The event will be held in the city of Tampa Bay, Florida and will be broadcast live on the WWE Network.
