WWE Conference Call Notes: NXT Praise, Vince Addresses Hogan’s Status, More

– WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, WWE Chief Strategy and Financial Officer George Barrios, and WWE Investor Relations Michael Weitz. Hosted today’s investor’s conference call. Here are the highlights…

* Vince said that they had a strong quarter, and was pleased with the network’s subscriber numbers.

* Barrios did the big read through of all the numbers that were released this morning.

* The company plans to release a three-month subscription card that will be sold in retail stores. This will be a way for fans to purchase the WWE Network without offering credit card information.

* Barrios was asked about new markets getting the WWE Network, but did not want to get into specifics.

* Vince stressed that they need to develop programming for all four quadrants of their age demographics.

* Barrios said that with 1.3 to 1.4 million network subscribers, they will be making more money than they were with PPV.

* In regards to Summerslam, they said it was starting to feel like WrestleMania is August. Vince said that they have so much content that they had to go to four hours.

* Barrios was asked about the company doing more specials like Beast in the East. He praised the special and stated that they will, “continue to more and innovate in that programming because it’s just been in a home run.”

* When asked about the possible expansion of NXT, Barrios praised Triple H’s work and said that the brand was in good hands with him. Vince added that they are confident in the talent being developed and that several talents have transitioned to the main event scene.

* Vince was asked about Hulk Hogan, and stated that he was no longer with them and that “We’re interested in individuals who can actually compete in the ring.”
