WWE Reportedly Considered Jalen Brunson For Role At WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event

WWE had discussions about having NBA Finals MVP Jalen Brunson involved in a creative role at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event next Saturday, per a new report. The report comes from WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select who note that WWE looked at a number of creative ideas that would have involved the New York Knights player and Danhausen. Danhausen was of course tied promotionally to the Knicks’ NBA Finals win after he “uncursed” the team, which was followed (definitely as a direct result of said uncursing) by the team going on a 15 – 1 run to win the championship.
Danhausen has been heavily used in the promotion for Saturday Night’s Main Event, which takes place at Madison Square Garden in New York City, and will be competing against JD McDonagh on the show.
Unfortunately, Brunson’s surgery on his left wrist scuttled creative plans for Brunson, as he is not allowed any physical contact. A source in WWE said they are still hopeful that Jalen Brunson will still attend the show and appear on screen.
