WWE Files Trademark Application For ‘Career Killer’

WWE has filed a new trademark application for the name of “Career Killer” ahead of Gunther’s match with AJ Styles at the WWE Royal Rumble. As Fightful reports, the company filed an application with the US Patent and Trademark Office for the term. The trademark was filed on January 26th.
Gunther has used the term as he goes on his run of retiring people. He retired Goldberg at Saturday Night’s Main Event last summer, and then put an end to John Cena’s career in December He is set to face AJ Styles at the Royal Rumble, with Styles forced to retire if he loses.
The trademark is described as follows:
“Entertainment services, namely, wrestling exhibitions and performances by a professional wrestler and entertainer rendered live and through broadcast media including television and radio, and via the internet or commercial online service; providing wrestling news and information via a global computer network; providing information in the fields of sports and entertainment via an online community portal; providing a website in the field of sports entertainment information; fan club services, namely, organizing sporting events in the field of wrestling for wrestling fan club members; organizing social entertainment events for entertainment purposes for wrestling fan club members; providing online newsletters in the fields of sports entertainment; online journals, namely blogs, in the field of sports entertainment.”
The WWE Royal Rumble takes place on Saturday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and airs live on the ESPN App and Netflix internationally.
