WWE Files New ‘SmackDown’ Trademark For Championship Belts

WWE has filed a new trademark application for “SmackDown,” covering championship trophy belts.

On September 18, the application was submitted to the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO) by World Wrestling Entertainment, LLC, and seeks protection for the name under International Class 006. The filing specifically covers “trophies made primarily of common metal for use as awards, namely, championship trophy belts.”

The application lists WWE as the current owner, with an address in Stamford, Connecticut. It uses “standard character drawing,” without “claim to any particular font style, size, or color.”

The company currently features several championships associated with WWE SmackDown, including the Undisputed WWE Championship, WWE Women’s Championship, the men’s and women’s United States Championships, and the WWE Tag Team Championship. WWE also sells replica championship belts through its official merchandise website.
