Despite escalating violence and tensions in the Middle East over the ongoing Iran war, WWE appears to be moving ahead with Crown Jewel 2026 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, at least publicly. As previously noted, WWE is said to have contingency plans for the premium live event if it’s forced to move.

F4WOnline’s Bryan Alvarez has an update on the matter and what’s going on with the event. He indicated that WWE has a backup city in the U.S. planned for the event. Alvarez wrote, “As of 10 AM ET today, Riyadh is still the plan for Crown Jewel, although there is a backup city in the US that is on the table.”

Operations were recently suspended at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, the host city of Crown Jewel, after an air strike by Houthi forces. A recent round of air strikes saw 12 people die, with 300 injured.

The U.S. Embassy in Saudi Arabia also issued a security alert over the weekend, strongly recommending that “All U.S. citizens avoid this airport and surrounding areas” and noting the potential for “flight cancellations, airspace closures, and travel disruptions.” A Level 3 travel advisory is also in effect from the State Department, advising U.S. citizens not to travel to the region.

Earlier today, WWE Chief Creative Officer Paul “Triple” Levesque released a new poster for the event, which is still promoting Crown Jewel for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia next month. For now, WWE has yet to announce any changes for the PLE.

WWE Crown Jewel takes place on November 7 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. It’s slated to be held at the Riyadh Season Stadium at King Abdullah Financial District.
