WWE Reportedly Had Interest In NJPW’s Knockout Brothers

WWE reportedly had some interest in the Knockout Brothers, though they said that they are not going anywhere. The tag team, which consists of OSKAR and Yuto-Ice, are the current IWGP Tag Team Champions and retained their titles against Ryohei Oiwa and Zack Sabre Jr. at New Year Dash on Monday.

Ibou of Self Made PW reported last month that WWE had interest in the tag team and offered them a contract. The two said after New Year Dash that “Whatever rumors you hear, we’re not going anywhere.”

Fightful Select confirms that WWE did have interest in the Knockout Brothers, but that NJPW sources didn’t expect them to leave even before they made their announcement. The report goes on to note that the interest was a subject of conversation among talent in the week leading to Wrestle Kingdom.
