WWE’s next international Premium Live Event is set in Italy for next May, according to a new report. Wrestlevotes Radio on Fightful Select has confirmed that the company will host its May PLE in Italy.

The news that WWE is headed to Italy does not come as a major surprise. Nick Khan noted back in September that the European country would host a PLE in 2026. He noted at the time:

“Almost half of our Premium Live Events take place outside of the United States now. We believe WWE is a global property, we believe the results on these shows, both in terms of attendance and viewership (locally and globally) have been significant. We have seen year-over-year increases for viewership on each one.”

The name of the PLE is not yet confirmed, but the traditional May PLE is Backlash. The planned date for now is May 31st. That will make it the first PLE following WrestleMania 42. The report notes that the name is “up for debate” and Backlash is the internal placeholder name.

No word on the venue as of yet. WWE’s last main roster PLE to take place internationally was WWE Crown Jewel, which was held in Perth, Australia in October. The next is the Royal Rumble, which will be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
