WWE Speed Titles Officially Retired On WWE NXT

Both of the WWE Speed Championships are officially former active titles, with both of them being retired on this week’s WWE NXT. Tuesday night’s episode saw NXT General Manager Robert Stone announce that the WWE Women’s Speed Championship and WWE Men’s Speed Championship are now defunct.
The reveal came in a backstage segment in which Stone told Zaria that she had to decide which of the two titles she wanted to defend between the Women’s North American Championship or Women’s Speed Championship after unifying them at NXT Heatwave. She chose the North American Championship and gave up the other one.
Stone also spoke with BirthRight and told Lexis King, the current (and now final) Men’s Speed Champion, that with the Women’s Title being retired, the Men’s Speed Title would be as well. You can see the segment below.
The Speed Championships were instituted as part of WWE Speed, which aired on Twitter from April 2024 until July 2025. After the show came to an end, the titles were brought over to NXT.
