wXw Star Reportedly Set For TNA Impact Tapings

wXw star Ricky Sosa has been pulled from the first two days of the 16 Carat Gold 2025 weekend, and a new report explains why. wXW announced on Friday that Sosa will be missing the first two days of the 16 Carat Gold shows, taking place on March 6th and March 7th. The announcement reads:

“Update on Ricky Sosa for #wXw16Carat Gold 2026

wXw European Champion
@rickysosa508 will unfortunately not be available for the 16 Carat Gold Tournament due to a last-minute major career opportunity. We wish him all the best. Ricky will, however, be at 16 Carat Sunday in Oberhausen.”

According to Fightful Select, Sosa will be appearing at the upcoming TNA tapings in Atlanta, Georgia that take place on March 5th and 6th. The report notes that there’s no word on whether Sosa has been signed by TNA.

Sources from wXw indicated to Fightful that they were very supportinve of Sosa’s opportunity and expected that an opportunity would be coming to him “sooner or later.” Sosa is known for his entrance and one source noted that while Sosa may be getting a lot of attention for that, but he’s “so much more” than that. wXw is now said to be actively working on a replacement for Sosa for the weekend shows.

Sosa is the wXw European Champion and has held the title for 76 days. He is also the Legion Industrial Championship for Legion Wrestling in Germany, having held that title for 300 days. He has been wrestling for four years and began working for wXw since September of 2025. Mark Henry praised Sosa in January as someone who is “going to be an unbelievable talent in the future.”
