UPDATED: TNA Postpones Next Week’s Tour of India – Talent Unhappy, More

November 25, 2015 | Posted by Jeremy Thomas

UPDATE: PWINsider has more on the story of TNA cancelling their tour of India next week. The site reports that the official announcement will likely come tomorrow and that talent was told in email that the logistical issues involved maintaining the safety of those traveling for the tour, with several members saying that they were flying to Paris before changing over to the flight into India. Paris, of course, was the site of the recent terror attack. There were fifty to sixty talent and crew members flying over for the tour.

At the moment there are a lot of unhappy members of the talent, as they haven’t had a lot of work this year in TNA due to the company’s various issues. A lot of people are said to be “scrambling” to get booking. TNA has told talent they’ll be paid for the missed dates.

TNA was planning to tape several One Night Only PPVs as well as footage for Impact. They had already taped semifinals for the World Title Series before they announced that the matches would be held in India, so going back to the original semifinal tapings from July is an option. The cancellation was not due to low sales, as all the promotion and ticket sales were being handled by Sony Six, TNA’s TV partner in India.

As it currently stands, TNA has no live events set until the January 5th live Impact taping which will be their Pop TV debut.

ORIGINAL: TNA has postponed their planned tour of India. The tour, which was planned for December 2nd through the 4th, would have seen the broadcast of a live One Night Only PPV as well as a taping of material for Impact and other broadcasts.

PWInsider reports that the tour has been pushed off due to logistical issues. TNA emailed their roster an hour ago informing them that the tour would be pushed back. The roster was set to leave this weekend and already had their their travel itineraries and flight tickets.

An official announcement is is forthcoming.
