Various News: Kenny Omega Wins IWGP Intercontinental Championship, Why Michael Elgin Missed Last Week’s ROH TV Tapings
February 14, 2016 | Posted by
– Former Ring of Honor world champion Michael Elgin was not in attendance at last weekend’s TV tapings for the promotion since he was on tour with NJPW. He’s currently scheduled to team up with NJPW star Hiroshi Tanahashi against the Briscoes at the ROH 14th Anniversary event.
– As noted here, Kenny Omega defeated Hiroshi Tanahashi at today’s NJPW New Beginning in Niigata card to win the vacant IWGP Intercontinental title. Shinsuke Nakamura vacated the title after leaving for WWE. Omega pinned Tanahashi after hitting him with the One Winged Angel. The event was held in Naogaoka, Niigata at the Aore Naogaoka.
