World Wrestling News Report 12.06.13

December 6, 2013 | Posted by Aaron Frame

Well, hello one and all! I have been away for a couple weeks, so sorry I could not bring wrestling news from foreign countries to you. I had some personal issues mixed with the holiday that got in the way, but all is starting to flow a little bit better again, I think. Things are still kind of rocky for me, it all started when I found out my mother might have cancer. Again. For the third time. That is some rough news and it sucks, to be honest. I think what sucks the most about it is that I live in California now and my mother is in Texas and I have not seen her in about a year. I think I need to dedicate more time to her because who knows what will happen. Pretty scary for me, but I have to just keep moving forward and pray things work out okay.

I do have one thing that is a helpful distraction sometimes; wrestling. Not just watching wrestling, reading and writing about it, but actually doing it. I am about five weeks in to training and it has been a blast. I knew going in that it would be physically demanding, really rough on the body. However, I do not think I understood just how taxing it can be on the body, if that makes sense. It is not really enough to make me want to quit, actually, it motivates me to try harder and keep pushing. I will not sit here and say I will be in WWE someday as the next Daniel Bryan (I am not very big), but that will not stop me from at least going to the tryouts. It is all about living the dream and shooting for the stars. I think this is the only thing I have done in my life where I am aiming high but will not be too broken up if/when I do not reach the goals I set. This is the one time to realistically understand that I may not make it to where I want to be. I want to make it, I am going to try everything I can to make it, but I know not everyone can. Anyhow, enough about me, lets get to some wrestling news, yeah?

Oh, one final note on the wrestling from Mexico…I have to be honest. Not really the biggest fan of lucha because I do not really get it. It is flashy and entertaining, but I have yet to actually understand it and I do not want to report on something I do not understand. It will be back, eventually.

I guess this kind of makes the column Japanese Wrestling News Report this week.

WWE

Nothing. You want the news from here, go check out the other news columns. They will be happy to oblige your WWE news needs, I am sure.

TNA

Same goes for TNA. Look elsewhere as this week you will find none of it here.

Japan

Ah yeah! Time to hit up some Japanese news! Lets see what we got here. Some All-Japan, New Japan, and NOAH results, I will even go back to last week and bring forth some results. Lets start with All-Japan and see what I can conjure up for you.

All Japan Pro Wrestling

AJPW started their 2013 Kingcraft Renaissance tour on 11/21, they had their first show at Korakuen Hall, claimed paid attendance was 615 (for reference Korakuen Hall has 2,005 seats).

Osamu Nishimura and Ryuji Hijikata defeated Kazushi Miyamoto and Kotaro Nasu after Nishimura hit a spinning toehold on Nasu at 10:22.

Masanobu Fuchi and Atsushi Aoki defeated Shigehiro Irie and Takao Soma, Aoki scoring a pinfall on Soma at 14:54.

Kento Miyahara and Kotaro Suzuki defeated Yoshinobu Kanemaru and Jun Akiyama, Suzuki hit a mass driver on Kanemura to score the pinfall victory at 14:18.

D-Lo Brown and Bambi Killer defeated Go Shiozaki and KENSO, D-Lo pinned Shiozaki after KENSO turned on him at 13;39. This was the first match as a team after KENSO decided to join Shiozakis stable, Xceed. The reason for that? KENSO has created his own heel stable, DK, with D-Lo and Bambi.

Suwama and Joe Doering defeated Akebono and Takao Omori, Doering pinned Akebono after a lariat at 14:15. Pretty big victory for Doering here as he has earned a shot at the Triple Crown Championship. This will be his second shot at the title, his first being in 2010 before going to WWE developmental where he failed to win the title from Satoshi Kojima.

Gaora TV Championship* Tournament:
SUSHI defeated Hikaru Sato at 11:32.
Keisuke Ishii defeated Masao Inoue at 10:34.
SUSHI and Keisuke Ishii will go on to meet at the 11/24 AJPW show for the Gaora TV title.
*The Gaora TV title is a title that was created in 2012 by AJPW and Gaora TV, the first tournament, and 8-man tournament, took place September 8, 2012 to October 7, 2012 with Seiya Sanada winning. The last champion, Rene Dupree, vacated the title after leaving AJPW for Wrestle-1, leading to the 4-man tournament at this show.

AJPW 11/23 show was held at the Joetsu Sightseeing Center, 337 claimed paid (could not find seating max for Joetsu).

Masanobu Fuchi and Masao Inoue wrestled to a 20 minute time limit draw.

Keisuke Ishii defeated KENSO at 6:14.

Takao Omori defeated Hikaru Sato at 11:42.

Yoshinobu Kanemaru and Jun Akiyama defeated Atsushi Aoki and Kotaro Suzuki at 15:49, Kanemaru pinning Suzuki.

Kento Miayhara and Go Shiozaki defeated Bambi Killer and D-Lo Brown at 15:33, Shiozaki pinned Killer scoring revenge on DK after KENSO turned on him and aligning with D-Lo and Bambi.

Joe Doreing and Suwama defeated SUSHI and Akebono after Suwama hit SUSHI with a Last Ride at 14:46.

AJPW 11/24 show held at Big Hat in Nagano, claimed 1,743 paid (9,500 seat capacity).

Gaora TV Title Tournament Finals: SUSHI defeated Keisuke Ishii at 11:49 to win the title. SUSHI is the 3rd Gaora TV Champion.

Takao Omori and Jun Akiyama defeated Hikaru Sato and Suwama, Akiyama pinned Sato at 15:50.

All-Japan World Jr. Heavyweight Championship: Yoshinobu Kanemaru defeated Kotaro Suzuki at 20:38 to retain the title. I think this was defense number 7.

D-Lo Brown, KENSO and Masa Chono defeated Atsushi Aoki, Kento Miyahara and Go Shiozaki, KENSO pinned Aoki at 20:41.

Triple Crown Championship: Akebono and Joe Doering went to a double countout at 5:16. Akebono demanded the match restart which is did, Akebono defeated Doering at 2:14 to retain the title. First title defense for Akebono.

Pro-Wrestling NOAH

NOAH held a couple shows on the 27th and 28th, beginning the Winter Navigation 2013 tour. Interesting note, Davey Richards was booked for the 11/27 show and the 12/7 show, which was supposed to be a GHC Jr. Heavyweight title match. Tatsuhito Takaiwa will be his replacement for the match. Story is that Richards got a head or neck injury at a NXT show and doctors said he could not travel to Japan, but many think it is a WWE storyline of sorts. Basically, Richards is on his way to WWE.

11/27 show was held at Karokuen Hall, 1,200 claimed paid (2,005 seating max).

Mitsuhiro Kitamiya defeated Hitoshi Kumano at 6:43.

Daisuke Harada defeated Pesadiya at 9:28.

Atsushi Kotoge and Takeshi Morishima defeated Hajime Ohara and Genba Hirayanagi, Kotoge hit Hirayanagi with the Kill Switch at 10:45.

Super Crazy defeated Yoshinari Ogawa at 7:20.

Tatsuhito Takaiwa, Shane Haste and Mikey Nicholls defeated Taiji Ishimori, Katsuhiko Nakajima and Naomichi Marufuji after Takaiwa hit Ishimori with a Death Valley Bomb for the pin at 15:52.

Daisuke Sekimoto and Yuji Nagata defeated Takashi Sugiura and KENTA, Nagata pinned KENTA at 25:37.

11/28 results from Fukushima. Apparently, whatever arena they held the show at 500 people, which they claimed, was overflow.

Hajime Ohara defeated Mitsuhiro Kitamiya at 10:06.

Zack Saber Jr. and Yoshinari Ogawa defeated Hitoshi Kumano and Daisuke Harada at 15:02 when Saber pinned Kumano.

Taiji Ishimori defeated Pesadiya at 8:57.

This Saturday NOAH has the….GREAT VOYAGE 2013 in TOKYO Vol. 2-Akira Taue Retirement Event (long name). They have a finalized card:

Super Crazy vs. Pesadiya

Kenta Kobashi is rumored to be in attendance at this show. Katsuyori Shibata has not wrestled for NOAH in over seven years, this will be his first appearance since September 2006. Lastly, if KENTA retains the GHC Heavyweight Championship, he will set a new record for the most successful defenses in a calendar year. Which is nine.

You know, writing this column really helps me escape for a bit from life. Life, well, life is a bitch sometimes. While I try to focus on this and not on the bad things going on, I do realize that it is a distraction and is holding me back on this column. For that, I apologize. Eventually, I will be pushing out something that is absolutely fantastic for fans of all wrestling genres. Until that day, however, you will just have to deal with a gimped column. Hope you guys enjoyed the column and I hope to bring you more results and news next week.
