WWE News: Details on Ciampa & Gargano’s Contracts, PC Coach Contacted For MMA Fight
– According to the WON, Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa’s WWE deals are structured in a similar nature to Samoa Joe’s original deal, in that they’re contracted to work for the company but don’t train at the WWE Performance Center and can accept indy bookings on their off days. The site notes that it isn’t known if there are limitations on where they can work beyond not appearing on taped content.
– The site also says that Bellator contacted WWE Performance Center striking coach Seth Petruzelli about facing Kimbo Slice. Petruzelli rather infamously faced Slice at EliteXC: Heat in October of 2008 as a last-minute replacement for Ken Shamrock and knocked Slice out in fourteen seconds. After Petruzelli made comments to the effect of being offered a monetary bonus to employ certain techniques during the fight (which he later recanted), EliteXC quickly fell apart and shut down that month.
