WWE News: Main Event Dark Match, Foley Movie Crowdfunding, More

November 24, 2015 | Posted by Jeremy Thomas

WrestlingInc reports that the dark match at tonight’s Main Event taping featured R-Truth defeating Brad Maddox. Maddox cut a “very emo-ish” promo and insulted the Indianapolis Colts and quarterback Andrew Luck, calling him the biggest bust in football.

– A new film titled Chokeslam featuring Mick Foley is currently crowdfunding through IndieGoGo. The film has raised $3,320 out of $50,000 needed in its first day. The synopsis is below and you can donate here:

COREY SWANSON, thirty, living in his mum’s basement, has had the same job slicing meat in a tiny deli for over ten years. Getting shutdown ten years earlier, after proposing to his girlfriend, SHEENA, in front of students and faculty can make a person a little weary. But Sheena — now a world renowned wrestler, famous for her legendary temper –- has flown into town for her and Corey’s high school reunion. Even though Sheena’s with a new man, TAB, a chiseled, smarmy manager from LA, Corey can’t help but become smitten all over again.

However at the wrestling event Corey’s planned for Sheena’s retirement with his good friend LUKE (a down-on-his-luck, former high school quarterback) a group of Japanese talent scouts offer Sheena a job in Tokyo! Corey feels like he’s been scissor-kicked in the stomach. The very event intended to rekindle Sheena’s love for wrestling (and hopefully her love for him), now threatens to take her away forever.

CHOKESLAM is a film about bruising your knuckles as you club your way through the barriers of love. It’s also about the perils of dating a wrestler with a bad temper.
