NBC is delving into its library for the upcoming Peacock streaming service, circling the idea of a Quantum Leap reboot. /Film reports that NBC programming head Jeff Bader has confirmed at the TCA winter press tour that a restart of the 1990s sci-fi series is “one I know everyone is discussing.”

Quantum Leap starred Sam Bakula and Dean Stockwell and focused on Bakula’s Dr. Sam Beckett, a scientist who invents time travel and gets caught in the timestream. Each episode saw Sam leap into the body of someone in the past in order to fix a wrong that occurred. Stockwell played Al, his AI that served as his guide. The show ran from 1989 through 1993.

SyFy previously considered a reboot of the series with a new cast, but the project ultimately didn’t move forward. There’s no word as of now regarding what form the series would take, though it’s unlikely to see Baluka or Stockwell return. Bakula currently stars on NCIS: New Orleans and the now-82 year-old Stockwell’s last acting job was in 2015 with the film Entertainment.
