Cody Rhodes Responds to Disco Inferno, Says He’s Neither a Heel nor a Face

– Former WCW wrestler Disco Inferno, AKA Glenn Gilbertti, took to Twitter this to critique Cody Rhodes’ hyping up his upcoming TNT title defense against Warhorse next week on AEW Dynamite. Cody Rhodes later responded to Gilbertti on Twitter.

Gilbertti initially tweeted, “Is Cody Rhodes a heel? This is like the old school angle where you have a list of worthy contenders and they are just a bunch of indy workers that don’t even work for the company. #warhorse.”

Cody later responded on Twitter, “I’m neither. I’m a competitor & a reigning champion. Tired old tropes are even more insulting to the viewer considering I’ve been on their TV since I was 20. It ain’t black and white, it hasn’t been in forever. Circumstances of the match dictate who we cheer for, beautiful thing.” You can view that exchange below.

Cody will defend his title next against Warhorse on the upcoming July 29 edition of Dynamite. The show will air live on Wednesday on TNT.
