Daniel Craig Exits Luca Guadagnino’s Sgt. Rock Film For DC Studios

Daniel Craig will not be playing Sgt. Rock in a DC Studios film after all, as he’s reportedly exited the project. Deadline reports that Craig has dropped out of the in-development film from director Luca Guadagnino, which was set up at DC Studios.

Craig was reported to be circling the role back in November. The film is an adaptation of the DC comic book about the World War II soldier. Details on why Craig is exiting are not yet known, and Variety reports that Craig had never formally committed to the role according to a source with knowledge of the matter. DC Studios has not been reached for comment yet.

The actor starred in Guadagnino’s most recent film Queer, which opened in November.
