Warner Bros. Discovery Reportedly Told CM Punk Is Coming Back to AEW, More On When That Might Happen
As previously reported, there are tentative plans for CM Punk to return to AEW, with June or July rumored as when it will happen. In the latest Wrestling Observer Live, it was reported that Warner Bros. Discovery has been told that Punk will be back on AEW programming soon. The report noted that the return is ‘essentially happening’ and WBD is ‘aware’ of it.
It was also noted that Punk has yet to speak with the Elite, something that Punk reportedly wants to do. The Young Bucks in particular are said to be “reluctant” to work with him.
It’s been reported that AEW’s new Saturday show, believed to be named Collision, will be what hosts Punk’s return to the company. While AEW has not announced the event yet, it’s believed that Collision will debut on June 17 in Chicago and will include Punk’s return. While the company will have a sort of roster split, it’s unknown how strict that will be. AEW is hoping to have the new two-hour series be on the same level as Dynamite.
