Sophie Turner in Talks to Star In Tomb Raider Live-Action Series

Sophie Turner is narrowing in on the role of Lara Croft, as she’s in talks to star in Amazon-MGM Studios’ Tomb Raider series. THR reports that the Game of Thrones alumna is in talks to play the iconic character in the live-action series from Amazon-MGM and Crystal Dynamics.

The outlet reports that tests took place in October with several actresses. Along with Turner, the final round of tests included Mackenzie Davis, Emma Mackey and Lucy Boynton.

The series is being written and executive produced by Phoebe Waller-Bridge. It received a series order earlier this spring and will stream on Prime Video.

Turner is best known for her role on Game Of Thrones as Sansa Stark. If she ultimately signs on, she’ll follow in the steps of Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander who played the role in previous films.

Amazon is also developing a new film and video game as part of their rights deal that will try to combine the various projects into one connected story. As of now, Waller-Bridge is only involved with the TV series.
