Update on Which AEW Star Big Boom AJ Will Team With At Full Gear 2025

A high-profile tag team match is reportedly being planned for AEW Full Gear 2025, with viral sensation Big Boom AJ expected to return to the ring alongside an AEW star, as per the Wrestling Observer Radio. The popular social media personality will make his in-ring comeback on November 22 at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

Big Boom AJ, known to millions as one-half of the comedic duo The Costco Guys, first captured attention with his AEW debut at Full Gear 2024, where he defeated QT Marshall in a Zero Hour match that quickly went viral. Since then, AJ has made appearances at AEW Revolution 2025 and All In Texas 2025, solidifying his growing connection with wrestling fans.

The storyline for his next appearance began after a confrontation involving Big Boom AJ, his son Big Justice, and Best Friends members Trent Beretta and Rocky Romero. While AJ initially wanted to team with his son, AEW officials reportedly declined due to Justice’s age. As a result, AJ will now choose a new partner from AEW’s active roster to face Beretta and Romero.

On Wrestling Observer Radio (via Wrestling Inc.), Dave Meltzer opined on who the mystery partner could be, and according to him, it would be someone AJ knows very well.

“So the match is going to be at Full Gear, which I kind of figured, they had issued the challenge weeks ago. Apparently from ROH TV it looks like it’s going to be QT [Marshall] as the mystery partner for AJ against Rocky Romero and Trent Beretta.”

Interestingly, AJ made his AEW debut at the Prudential Center, defeating QT Marshall with a broken foot, during the Full Gear 2024 pre-show. An official announcement regarding AJ’s tag team partner is expected soon, possibly on an upcoming episode of AEW Dynamite.
