WWE Smackdown is set to return to a three-hour format starting in January, according to a new report. The Friday night show returned to two hours in July after a six-month run at three hours on USA Network to start the year. WrestleVotes reports that WWE and USA have decided to return to a three-hour format. The show’s return to three hours will reportedly start on January 2nd.
WWE announced in December of 2024 that the show would expand to three hours to start 2025. The move came as part of WWE Smackdown’s move from FOX to USA Network, and as Raw moved off USA Network to Netflix.
The report makes no mention of whether this will be a permanent or a temporary change. WWE has not yet announced such a move. The January 2nd episode of Smackdown takes place in Buffalo, New York at the KeyBank Center.
