WWE programming in Japan is moving to Netflix. The WWE Japan account on X announced today that first-run WWE programs in Japan will begin streaming on Netflix in the region starting next month (see below).
More details on the announcement will be revealed soon. WWE content previously aired on the Japanese streaming service ABEMA. As previously reported, ABEMA announced last month that WWE content would no longer air on the service starting September 30, with the final WWE broadcast scheduled for Sept. 29 for Monday Night Raw.
ABEMA has been WWE’s streaming partner in Japan since September 2023. with the streamer showing SmackDown, Raw, and WWE premium live events. The programming migration to Netflix in Japan has been in the works since earlier this year, when Netflix executive and VP of Sports Gabe Spitzer announced plans to launch WWE programming in the region later this year.
The announcement graphic promotes that Monday Night Raw, Friday Night SmackDown, and NXT will be available through Netflix in Japan.
