Giulia vs. Nia Jax (w/ Lash Legend)
-Great to have Giulia back on Main Event! Curious to see what she can do her. Lockup and Nia shoves Giulia back on her ass. Giulia ducks a charge and starts firing away with leg kicks. She hooks an octopus submission and tries a sunset flip. Nia tries to sit down, but Giulia rolls out of the way and goes after a leg. Nia stands up and stomps Giulia to force a break. Nia sells the knee and misses a charge in the corner. Giulia runs at Nia and gets planted with a modified spinebuster. Nia bangs the back of Giulia’s head off the mat and gets two with a cocky cover. Giulia tries to fight back, but a head-butt stomps this run. Nia sends her to the floor and Lash lays in a strike. Nia seems content with taking a count-out win as she counts along with the ref. Giulia beats the count and Nia hooks a submission. The crowd gets behind Giulia and she elbows her was out. She avoids a charge and hits a snap DDT! She throws herself at Nia with shoulder tackles. She knocks her down with a knee and heads up top. Missile dropkick connects for a two count. Giulia goes for another submission, but Lash is on the apron to distract. Giulia lands a kick, but Nia decks her, hits a Samoan Drop and the Annihilator gets the pin at 6:11.
Winner: Nia Jax via pin at 6:1
-About what I expected and after seeing three matches on Evolve end due to distraction, this as even more of a bummer. Giulia is great and looked good here even in defeat. **
-WWE Crown Jewel commercial! I was a guest on a podcast to talk Liv/Chelsea!
-Rumble commercials!
-Survivor Series: War Games! Houston! We may not have baseball there for a bit. If it gets us a cap and floor, then great.
AAA Cruiserweight Championship: Rey Fenix (c) vs. Akira Tozawa
-WE ARE FINALLY GETTING A TITLE MATCH ON MAIN EVENT! I have been asking for something like for years and this title is perfect for this show. Is someone from WWE reading my reviews? More of this please then! I think the last time a Title was defended on this show as the 24/7 Title. Tozawa comes out quick and with aggression. Having a Championship Match will do that. We get a stalemate sequence and the crowd cheers. Handshake and Fenix kicks Tozawa in the gut. He sends him to the floor and goes to spring, but Tozawa yanks him off the ropes. Tozawa goes for a suicide dive but gets destroyed with a kick to the face. Fenix up top, but Tozawa catches him with a dropkick on the way down for two. Head kick by Tozawa followed by a Senton for two. Tozawa pounds away with right hands as I love seeing the aggression. Seated dropkick in the corner gets two. Slap to the face by Tozawa and he hooks a front facelock. He knocks Fenix down for another two count. Tozawa runs into a superkick in the corner and then Fenix gets rolling with a series of clotheslines. Fenix rebounds off (through) the ropes and hits a spinning hook kick for two. More kicks followed by a leg trip. Dropkick to the back of the head! He walks the ropes and hits Goodbye Amigo. Frog Splash Crossbody gets two! Tozawa fights off Fenix’s shoulders, but misses an enziguiri. He does end up getting a German Suplex into a pin for two. TOZAWA-MANIA RUNNING WILD as he rips off the shirt. Kick after kick after kick. Fenix responds, but gets planted with a DDT for two. Nice! Tozawa heads up top but misses and injures his knee. Fenix with a forearm in the corner and hits a superkick. Mexican Muscle Buster gets the pin at 6:09.
Winner and Still AAA World Cruiserweight Champion: Rey Fenix via pin at 6:09
-Good match and even though Tozawa had no change of winning, I just like the idea of having a Title Match on the show. I loved the aggression for Tozawa as he was more serious here and leaned heel. ***
-Rumble commercials!
Candice LeRae vs. Paige
-Cool! Blake notes this is a first time meeting. This is Paige’s first match on Main Event in 10 years. Candice is not impressed by Paige and the reaction she is getting. Candice stalls as she heads out to the apron. Back in she gets a headlock and takes it to the mat. Paige rolls back for a one count and then gets a head scissors. Side headlock by Paige, but she gets shoved off. She lands a head kick and hits a jumping knee for two. She runs Paige into the top buckle of all four corners which the crowd enjoyed. Paige with a cannonball to the floor from the apron! Nice! Candice rolls back to the floor as she is looking to create space. Paige follows and ducks an elbow and knocks Candice down. Paige plays to the crowd as they chant her name. Back in the ring, Candice lands a running clothesline and goes ground and pound. Paige fights back, but eats an elbow in the corner. Neck Snap from Candice gets two as we go picture in picture. Again, better than a full commercial break. Candice chokes Paige on the ropes as she goes after the bad neck. Makes sense! Paige runs into another elbow for a two count. Candice hooks a top wrist-lock and than throws a step up head kick. She removes the buckle from the second rope, but that lets Paige gets a roll-up for two. Paige with a series of clotheslines and then a dropkick. She avoids a clothesline and hits a German Release Suplex! Paige Turner gets two! Candice grabs hold of the ring apron and kicks away as Paige tries to pull her back into the ring. She hits a modified Code Breaker for two. “Lets Go Paige,” chant from the crowd! Reversal and Candice goes head first into the exposed buckle. Rampage finishes at 7:04.
Winner: Paige via pin at 7:04
-Fine little match as they got some time. It was a hard fought match by both as they put in some work. The result was never in doubt though. **3/4
-We get a run down of the Crown Jewel card! This Saturday!
-On RAW, Ethan Page used an exposed turnbuckle to capture the IC Title and end the reign of Chad Gable.
-Jackie Redmond (Woo) is backstage with Ethan Page. He asks what it makes him since he beat one of the best to ever be IC Champion. The IC Title is the first step and he is sad he couldn’t be a fan and watch himself win the IC Title.
-Haku and MFT have a message for Bakusai! I would be terrified if Haku told me my nightmare was just beginning.
-We see Chase Mattson training at the WWE PC. He’s a model and actor. Okay then!
-Non WWE commercials!
Kyoki (w/ Nakamura) vs. Talla Tonga (w/ Haku and Tama Tonga)
-Blake notes these two have history before coming to WWE. Talla charges and Kyoki avoids. Talla shoves him back across the ring. Kyoki with a dropkick to the knee and Talla shoves him away again. Kyoki tries a clotheline and hurts his arm. Talla slugs him down and runs him shoulder first into the post. Delayed release suplex! Running clothesline in the corner followed by a running powerslam for two. Kyoki tries to fight back with chops and nothing doing. One heavy chop from Talla knocks Kyoki to his knees. He avoids an elbow and then avoids a charge in the corner. Another dropkick to the knee. He escapes a chokeslam and ducks a charge as Talla hits the floor. Kyoki off with a dive, but gets caught. Talla tries to run him into the post, but Kyoki slides off and sends Talla into the post. Dropkick off the apron sends Talla into the barrier. He goes to get back in the ring, but Kyoki kicks the ropes to cause groin trauma. Kyoki counters a throw with a DDT and heads up top. Nakamura takes Tama out and that lets Kyoki hit a missile dropkick for two. Tama sends Nakamura into the railing. Kyoki off the apron with a dive on Talla and then drops Talla throat first on the top rope back in the ring. He comes off the top again, but this time gets caught and God Send finishes at 5:12.
Winner: Talla Tonga via pin at 5:12
-I enjoyed this as Kyoki was working like a mad man out there as he was bumping and flying all over the ring. Talla did what he needed as he looked imposing and hits power moves that looked good. We also got a clean winner without any interference leading to a winner. **3/4
-Thanks for reading!
