Rockstar Games has been at work at Grand Theft Auto VI, but some of the early work has been shown off earlier than intended due to a massive hacker leak. A hacker by the name of teapotuberhacker shared an enormous trove of leaked early gameplay footage, screenshots and more online early Sunday morning, with the videos making their way across the internet despite Rockstar’s best efforts to take them down. The Gaming Leaks and Rumors subreddit has a collection of content here.

Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier has confirmed with sources that the leak is real and that the footage is “early and unfinished,” something that the clips make obvious. Take-Two Interactive has yet to publicly comment on the matter, but it has been busy issuing copyright claim takedowns.

The leaks confirm information that Schreier earlier reported on, that the game will take place in Vice City and that there are two playable protagonists, one of which is a Latina female named Lucia. The hacker claims to have acquired the content from a Rockstar Games Slack and Confluence servers, noting that he got the “GTA 5 and 6 source code and assets, GTA 6 testing build.” Bleeping Computer reports that the hacker is also believed to have been behind a hack of Uber last week.

Grand Theft Auto VI was offically confirmed by Rockstar in February. There is no release date yet set.
