Jacare Souza No Longer On UFC Roster After Recent Loss and Injury
We reported earlier this week that Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza had successful surgery on the arm he broke at UFC 262 in a loss to Andre Muniz, his fourth straight in UFC. According to ESPN, Jacare is no longer on the UFC roster after both the injury and the loss. The fight with Muniz was the last one on his current deal with the company, which has expired.
The news was confirmed by Souza’s manager Andre Pederneiras, who said: “‘Jacare’ just wants to take a rest now and take care of his family for now.”
After his surgery, Souza went home to Florida on Wednesday. He wrote on Instagram: “So happy to return to my home and see my children again, after almost 10 days. I thank you once again for all the support and affection in the messages you are sending me.”
