Josh Thomson Still Has a Couple Fights He Wants Before Retiring

October 15, 2018 | Posted by Jeremy Thomas

Josh Thomson spoke with MMAjunkie for a new interview discussing his career, possible retirement and more. Highlights are below:

On not being ready to retire: “There are a couple fights that I would really like to get. And let’s not beat around the bush – there is a small chance that Gilbert Melendez may be free in one year. So you never know. But Gil and I, I feel like it would be great to do it in Bellator. Who knows. There’s so much that could happen between now and then, but I’ve got the utmost respect for Gil.”

On another loss being a possible impetus to call it quits: “It will be hard to go on if I don’t succeed. Even if I did come out with a victory, and I’m not happy with my performance, I’d probably have to consider everything.”
