Matt Mitrione Releases Statement on Fedor Emelianenko Fight Cancellation for Bellator 172
Heavyweight MMA fighter Matt Mitrione has released a statement on his Twitter account, commenting on his cancelled main event bout with former Pride FC heavyweight champion, Fedor Emelianenko, for Bellator 172. The fight was pulled from the event at the very last minute after falling ill due to a kidney stone.
Mitrione also addressed his critics who accused him of faking the illness or being scared of fighting Emelianenko. Bellator 172 was held last night at the SAP Center in San Jose, California. The event was broadcast on Spike TV, and prelims were shown on Spike.com. In the new main event, Patricky “Pitbull” Freire faced Josh Thomson, and he won by knockout in the second round.
Thank you for understanding the misery I've been in trying to pass this big ass stone without so much as an aspirin. #StillHasntPassed

And for y'all fools that have the nerve to claim that I'm scared or faking, come hold these nuts while I try to finally pee this stone out
