ABC Cancels Inhumans, Designated Survivor, Quantico & Five More
ABC has made some deep cuts in their series lineup, axing eight of this season’s shows including Marvel’s Inhumans and Designated Survivor. TV Line reports that the network cancelled both of those dramas along with action-thriller Quantico, freshman comedy Alex, Inc., sci-fi drama The Crossing, magic crime procedural Deception, and spiritual dramedy Kevin (Probably) Saves the World. It also made the previously-reported cancellation to Ten Days in the Valley official.
There’s only one surprise in here, and that’s Designated Survivor. That series was expected to continue based on its overall stability and the fact that its borderline ratings were mitigated by the 10 PM timeslot. Inhumans was a critical and commercial flop, starting off with an poor 0.85 demo rating in its highly-touted premiere and dropping to into the 0.4 range by the end of its eight-episode run. Quantico was DOA this season after a bit of a surprise renewal last season, premiering in April with a 0.5 demo rating.
