Amandla Stenberg In Talks to Topline Star Wars Disney+ Series The Acolyte

Disney+ has reportedly found their star of the upcoming Star Wars series The Acolyte in Amandla Stenberg. Variety reports that Stenberg (The Hate U Give) is in discussions to star in the series, which comes from Leslye Headland.

Plot details are being kept under wraps for the show, though speculation (entirely unconfirmed) is that it may involve a Sith acolyte. The series was announced last December and was described as follows:

The Acolyte is a mystery-thriller that will take viewers into a galaxy of shadowy secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era.

The High Republic era took place between 300 BBY (Before the Battle of Yavin) and 82 BBY in Star Wars mythology. The “final days” would be about 50 years before the events of Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace.
